Stumphauzer | O'Toole's Natural Resources practice focuses on oil and gas, water, and environmental law.  With ever increasing regulations governing our interaction with the environment, businesses and individuals alike benefit from counsel experienced in environmental litigation at all levels.  Our attorneys routinely practice in state and federal courts, and appear before the various administrative bodies responsible for enforcing environmental regulations, including the Environmental Protection Agency.  It is our job to maintain a constant watch on the legal climate affecting our clients, and to provide proactive solutions to environmental issues.

Dennis M. O'Toole

Dennis is a senior partner of the firm and has been a trial lawyer for 36 years. He has handled a wide variety of civil cases as part of a multi-state practice based in Northern Ohio, including serious personal injury and wrongful death cases. A substantial portion of Dennis’ practice involves the representation of public sector clients, where he handles a myriad of cases and legal issues facing public entities, including eminent domain cases.

Vitran to Pay $2.6 Million in Class Action Settlement

United States District Judge Dan Polster preliminarily approved a $2.6 million class action settlement in favor of truck drivers who sought employment with Vitran Express, Inc. from April 2004 through March 2009.

Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals Rules in Favor of Ross County Water

On November 30, 2011, the United States Court of Appeals affirmed an injunction granted to Ross County Water Company to prevent Chillicothe from building a competing system.
